About

Hands in the dirt,
not just on a clipboard.

Nutmeg Bamboo Removal is run by a Connecticut-based bamboo removal specialist, serving both Connecticut and New York, with direct, hands-on experience clearing established stands — not just recommending a plan and walking away.

Experience

Removal work, both ways.

I've removed bamboo using targeted herbicide treatments and I've removed it without any chemicals at all — through repeated cutting, rhizome excavation, and barrier methods. Every property has a different answer for which approach makes sense, and I've done the physical work required for both, not just studied it.

That means when I advise a property owner, the plan is built on what actually happens in the ground over a season or two — not a generic checklist.

Who this is for

Residential and commercial properties.

Homeowners dealing with a bamboo stand that's crossed a property line, and commercial or municipal property managers who need a stand cleared without disrupting the rest of the site — both get the same level of attention.

Every engagement starts with a call or an in-person visit to look at the stand, the soil, and what's nearby before any recommendation is made.

How I work

Three levels of involvement.

Advisory

I assess your property and give you a clear, written-out plan — timing, method, and the steps involved — so you or your crew can do the removal.

Oversight

I stay involved through the project, directing the work and adjusting the plan as the rhizome mat and regrowth reveal what's really there.

Full removal

I do the cutting, treatment, and rhizome removal myself, and follow up to make sure the stand doesn't come back.
